who we are

Talking Socks is operated by TALKING SOCKS PTE. LTD., Singapore. These terms cover the Talking Socks app and website. Questions and refund requests go to [email protected].

what the service does

You record speech; we use third-party speech-recognition and language-processing services to make transcripts, live notes and summaries. These can be wrong, incomplete or unavailable. Check important details against the recording. Our privacy policy explains what information is shared and retained.

You are responsible for having permission to record and share content. Recording laws differ by place. Let people know before recording them, and do not record people who have asked you not to.

who can use it

You need a supported sign-in account and must meet your sign-in provider's and the applicable app store's requirements. Talking Socks does not set an additional minimum age. Keep access to your account secure.

prepaid credit and recording charges

Recording currently costs USD 6 per hour, charged by the second at the rate shown when you start. Your balance is kept in US dollars; hours shown are what that balance buys at the current rate. Credit does not expire and cannot be transferred between accounts.

The recording-time charge applies even if transcription or summaries are delayed or unavailable. Transcripts, summaries and processing retries do not create an additional charge to your balance. Processing and retries are subject to service capacity and spending limits; we do not promise unlimited retries or a successful result. Contact support if a service failure affects your recording. This does not limit any remedy required by law.

If the rate increases, we give at least seven days' notice by email and in the app. A new rate applies only to recordings started after the change; existing credit keeps its dollar value. Low credit, recording limits or unavailable capacity can prevent or stop recording. Follow the app's upload status to confirm what has been saved.

buying credit

Website top-ups currently range from USD 6 to USD 100 per purchase. In the iPhone app, buy the credit packs and pay the local prices shown by the App Store. Packs add the stated credit amount; recording time depends on the applicable recording rate.

We do not store your card number. A payment provider may offer to save a payment method. Automatic top-ups are not offered: each purchase requires your action.

refunds

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases under Apple's refund process. Contact Apple to request one; Talking Socks cannot issue an App Store refund directly.

For website purchases, contact support before deleting your account. If your unused website-purchased credit is worth more than one hour at the current recording rate, our standard policy refunds that unused amount to the original payment method, less a processing deduction of 5 percent of the amount refunded, with a minimum deduction of USD 1. At or below one hour, our standard policy does not offer a refund. App Store credit and promotional credit are not refundable through this website policy.

Refunds are handled through support. Deleting your account does not automatically refund credit, and you lose access to the balance when the account closes. Refund thresholds, deductions and account closure do not take away any mandatory refund or consumer rights that apply where you live. If a refund or chargeback leaves a negative balance, recording remains unavailable until it is settled.

your content and deletion

Your recordings, transcripts, notes and summaries remain yours. You give us the permission needed to store, process and deliver them for the service and for exports you request. We do not sell your recordings or use them for advertising. Export anything you want to keep before deleting it.

Delete a recording from its page, or your account from Account on the web or in the app. Account deletion closes sign-in access immediately and starts removal of app-managed content. Removal can take longer after a failure; some older archive copies need a separate manual step. Deletion remains pending until the required cleanup is confirmed. Financial and usage records, backups, external mailbox copies and processor-held copies have the separate retention described in our privacy policy. Unsynced recordings on your devices need local cleanup.

acceptable use

Do not use Talking Socks to break the law, record people unlawfully, harass others, attack the service or resell access. We may suspend accounts that do so.

availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but cannot promise uninterrupted service or error-free output. We may change or withdraw features. If we stop offering the service, we give notice; the refund policy and your mandatory legal rights apply to unused credit.

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app and by email at least seven days before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms, subject to your mandatory legal rights.

liability and governing law

To the extent the law permits, the service is provided as is and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. This does not exclude liability or remedies that the law does not allow us to exclude.

These terms are governed by Singapore law. They do not take away mandatory consumer rights or protections that apply where you live.
